Tom Morello Honors Chris Cornell With Suicide Prevention Track

Tom Morello is gearing up to release his solo project’s debut album “The Atlas Underground” on October 12th. In the meantime, he’s giving fans another taste of the upcoming album with a very special release.

The rocker is paying tribute to his late Audioslave bandmate Chris Cornell by partnering up with suicide awareness organization SAVE to release a new song “Every Step That I Take.” The song, which features Portugal. The Man and Whethan, aims to remove the stigma around mental health issues. Check it out to the right.

“With the passing of Chris over a year ago, and the momentum towards removing the stigma from mental health issues and suicidal thoughts, it was very important to have a song from that point of view,” he explains in a recent interview. “It’s about how the dreams, and depression, and love and the lack of it on the emotional steps of the gallows are processed.”
