Slipknot has been gearing up for a comeback. They’re supposed to drop a new album by 2019, and now they’ve finally released a new song and music video, “All Out Life.”
In a new interview, frontman Corey Taylor talks about the new release. “Everybody talks about toxic masculinity and toxic fandom these days,” he says. “For me, it’s more about this toxic idea that unless something came out 10 minutes ago, it’s not any good, and that bothers me.”
He also has some praise for his band members, including Jim Root, Clown, Alex Venturella and Jay Weinberg, who he credits for inspiring him to get back in action by writing “some of the most incredible music” that he’s ever heard.
“It’s so good and so inspiring to me that I just sat right down and wrote,” he adds. “We went ahead and we re-tracked and were actually able to beat the demo, which for us is pretty gnarly, dude.”
