The late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington is featured on a new solo song by Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton. “Cross Off” comes from guitarist’s upcoming album “Anesthetic,” which drops on March 1st.
News of the collaboration first broke a little over a year ago, when Morton revealed he was in the studio with Bennington. That was before the rocker announced he had a solo album in the works. Other guests on the record include Mark Lanegan, Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz, his Lamb Of God bandmate Randy Blythe, and Myles Kennedy.
In a new interview with Zane Lowe, Morton calls Bennington’s voice “unmistakable” and “God-given.” “In our perfect world, who would sing this song that we were so excited about? Well, it would be Chester Bennington,” he says. “And honestly, I didn’t even know if my work with Lamb or whatever was on Chester’s radar at all. But we reached out and he knew who I was and he wanted to hear the song.”
