Eddie Vedder Covers “A Star Is Born” Track At Innings Festival

Eddie Vedder headlined the second annual Innings Festival in Tempe, Arizona this weekend treating the crowd to a set made up of his solo material, Pearl Jam tracks, and several interesting covers.

Covers performed include “Keep Me In Your Heart,” by Warren Zevon, a snippet of U2’s “In God’s Country,” Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers,” Bruce Springsteen’s “Open All Night,” The Clash’s “Should I Stay Or Should I Go,” and George Harrison’s “Isn’t It A Pity.”

The most interesting cover though was Eddie’s take on “Maybe It’s Time,” the written by Jason Isbell for the Bradley Cooper/Lady Gagaflick “A Star Is Born.” Cooper did say during interviews that his character Jackson Maine was partially inspired by Vedder

  • Meanwhile, Isabell, for one, was shocked and honored by the cover. “Holy sh*t Eddie Vedder sang my Bradley Cooper song in his set tonight,” Isbell tweeted. “That is by far the strangest sentence I’ve ever composed but it’s certainly a huge honor. I was 12 when “Ten” came out and by god I learned how to play every song on it.”
