Fans don’t have to live off of teasers anymore, it’s finally here – HBO has unveiled the official trailer for the eighth and final season of “Game Of Thrones.”
The clip features tons of new footage, and teases at least one death (let’s face it, there will probably be many) that Arya Stark is “looking forward to seeing.”
But that’s not all – director David Nutter has given up some more details in an interview with “Entertainment Weekly.” Here’s what he’s spilled:
- He’s promising that fans “will not be let down” by the final season, which will contain “a lot of firsts.” Those firsts include Sansa seeing dragons for the first time ever, and Arya going to battle.
- There will be a scene where “there’s so many [major characters] together it feels like you’re watching a superhero movie.” That’s probably the episode covering the battle of Winterfell where they battle the Night King and his army, an epically long battle sequence full of major characters that very well may be the longest ever on film – more than 40 minutes long.
The final season premieres on April 14th – check out the trailer for yourself HERE. As expected, the Twitterverse exploded the minute it was posted. Check out the trailer to the right and some of the reactions below.
- ONE MORE THING!While the show’s makers have done a good job of keeping spoilers locked up tight, it definitely wasn’t easy. Here’s an example of the security scares they’ve faced: at one point during filming in Northern Ireland, there was a helicopter flying above the set that they thought could be a “spoiler helicopter.” Luckily, it turned out to just be a police chopper.
