Metallica, Slayer, More Recall 80s Music Scene In New Documentary

Members of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and more sit down for interviews in the upcoming music documentary, “Murder In The Front Row: The San Francisco Bay Area Thrash Metal Story.” The doc is named after a lyric from Exodus’ song “Bonded By Blood,” and premieres at San Francisco’s Kabuki 8 theater on April 20th.

The rockers will recall the Bay Area’s influential music scene back in the 1980s, where many of today’s top metal bands kickstarted their careers. At the time, the scene was inspired by British bands like Iron Maiden, Motorhead and UFO, who director Adam Dubin points out rarely visited the West Coast of America. “So these young people started creating their own music, started their own fanzines, booking clubs, and trading tapes,” he adds.

The official trailer has dropped, giving fans a preview of interviews with Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Tom Araya, Robert Trujillo, Gary Holt, David Ellefson, and more.
