NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” welcomed back alum Adam Sandler this weekend. He made a comeback 25 years after his reign as a cast member of the comedy sketch show… and while there were a lot of laughs, things got a little emotional.
During his monologue, Sandler joked about losing his virginity “in this very studio,” sang a song about getting fired from the show “between seasons.” And throughout the episode, he and the rest of the cast revived some of his iconic characters like Opera Man, Canteen Boy, and more.
Things got emotional towards the end of the show, when he paid musical tribute to late alum Chris Farley, who tragically died in 1997 of a drug overdose. The bittersweet tune was accompanied by clips of Farley in the background, bringing the audience to laughter and tears.
