Metallica Performs National Anthem at NBA Finals

The Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors faced off for last night’s NBA Finals game. If the two teams were the headliners, then Metallica was their opening act.

Guitarist Kirk Hammett and frontman James Hetfield played “The Star-Spangled Banner” ahead of Game 3 at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. Meanwhile, the Canadian National Anthem was performed by Canadian singer Tenille Arts.

This isn’t their first time performing the anthem. They performed during Game 5 of the Warriors’ 2015 championship run, too, and most recently at San Francisco’s Oracle Park for the sold out Giants vs. Yankees game back in April.
